Networking at SMM’s Maritime Career Market-Hamburg
Information, potential employers and keynotes await jobseekers
Some 2,200 exhibitors from 69 countries will be presenting their companies at the upcoming SMM trade fair underway in Hamburg’s fairgrounds from September 4-7, 2018. The exhibitors include market leaders, start-ups, large corporations and successful niche providers, many of whom will be seeking qualified personnel at the Maritime Career Market (MCM) on September 7, 2018.
Young professionals meet established exhibitors
The career forum debuts this year with keynotes on maritime profession careers and career tips. Experts will provide information about training and study opportunities and job profiles in the maritime industry. Interested applicants can meet companies and educational institutions such as Fraunhofer CML, Hapag-Lloyd and Becker Marine System as well as the University of Duisberg-Essen. Wibke Wolf, HR Manager of the Hamburg-based Becker Marine Systems, noted: “We hope to meet many young professionals looking for new job options.” The company seeks competent employees with electro-technical and maritime backgrounds.
Career guidance
The MCM will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 – the Career Forum in Foyer East and in the exhibition area between Foyer and Hall B4.EG. The Nordmetall employers’ association will host an information truck at the east entrance. Consultants aboard the truck will offer state-of-the-art career guidance with multimedia presentations, high-tech experiments and personal information. Admission to MCM and SMM is free for pupils and students on Fridays. Students pay a reduced entrance fee of EUR 15.00 on the remaining days of the fair.
